Proskaters Place, a North American inline skate and roller skate e-commerce business, approached us with a desire to take their organic search results to the next level. Their website, which had been accidentally ranking for some keywords and built on WordPress, was sluggish and did not effectively rank their key service pages. With little knowledge of how they got the traffic they were receiving (around 3k hits per month), Proskaters Place needed a partner to bring their search engine presence up to speed and help drive more traffic to their e-commerce efforts. The original site was slow and technically unoptimized. Minimal effort was spent optimizing key SEO elements such as meta descriptions, site speed, proper use of H1 and H2 tags, and effective internal and external linking. These factors are crucial for ranking and were largely overlooked. We knew this is where we were going to have to start in order to rank for any major landing pages or attempt to rank for key money pages like inline skates for the us and Canadian markets.

To achieve this mission, we created a comprehensive 3-step plan:

  1. Semantic Optimization: We began by semantically optimizing the core and product pages. This included setting up proper meta descriptions, fixing H1 and H2 headings, implementing internal linking strategies, and ensuring all content was structured for SEO success.
  2. Technical Optimization: The site’s poor speed was a critical issue, primarily caused by the currency conversion and payment system errors. We researched and implemented cost-effective software to resolve these issues, allowing us to install native caching for faster load times and getting listed on Google Marketplace for better visibility.
  3. Keyword Research & Topical Authority: We conducted in-depth keyword research to ensure proper targeting of keywords with significant search volume. This allowed us to create topical authority maps, elevating key category pages and boosting overall search visibility.
  4. Conversion Rate Optimization: Beyond driving traffic, we focused on maximizing conversions. We installed order bump software, optimized checkouts with local currency conversion, integrated instant address lookup, and revamped CRM marketing flows to capture and convert leads more effectively.

Results
